Sienna Betts Named 2025 Morgan Wootten National Girls High School Basketball Player of the Year

On March 30, 2025, Grandview High School senior Sienna Betts was honored with the prestigious Morgan Wootten National Girls High School Basketball Player of the Year award. This accolade, presented as part of the McDonald’s All-American Games, recognizes a high school senior who demonstrates outstanding character, leadership, and performance on and off the court.

Betts, a 6-foot-4 forward from Aurora, Colorado, had an exceptional senior season, averaging 23.0 points, 16.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 3.4 blocks per game while shooting 60% from the field. Her leadership propelled Grandview to a 25-3 record and the Colorado Class 6A state championship.

Accompanying Sienna at the McDonald’s All-American Games in Brooklyn, New York, was her longtime trainer and coach, Derek Griffin of Hardwood Elite Club. Griffin has been instrumental in Sienna’s development since she began training with him in the seventh grade. His guidance has been pivotal in honing her technical skills and basketball IQ, contributing significantly to her growth as a top-tier athlete.
